                                                      2011 Medical Mission

The 13 member team returned home Feb. 19th from an 8 day medical mission trip to

Bahon, Haiti.   As usual, we had a wonderful week visiting with and serving our friends.

We were sad to leave!   Unfortunately, we had many more seriously ill patients than usual.  We’re not sure why, maybe the events of the last year have finally taken a toll on the people of Bahon.  While we didn’t see any patients with cholera, we saw many who had lost loved ones to this illness.  Many orphaned children.  The MSF hospital in the area reported 1 case in January and feared it was on the rise having seen 10 cholera patients that week.    For trip pictures, see our Photo Gallery

We are a global outreach ministry of Holy Family Catholic Church in Brentwood, TN.   We operate under the auspices of the Parish Twinning Program of the Americas (PTPA) and have partnered with St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bahon, Haiti.   As part of this covenant, our parish has promised to support the local Haitian community in their efforts to provide educational opportunities for children and adults so that they may free themselves from the chains of poverty.

We are joined in our belief that education is a basic right of all people,

and a key to unlocking the chains of poverty that continue to oppress our Haitian brothers and sisters.
